Madison Marcus Future Leaders Initiative

On Wednesday, 22nd of May 2019, the staff of Madison Marcus gathered in our Sydney offices to celebrate the promotion of Robert Szuszkiewicz to Associate in our National Dispute Resolution Division. Robert has been critical to the division’s success headed up by Partner David Low – who has recently been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers™   in Australia 2020 Edition. David and the Directors of Madison Marcus recognise the dedication and diligence that Rob put into each and every matter he works on and the relationships Rob has developed with our clients, always going the extra mile to ensure the best possible result. Rob has also dedicated significant time in mentoring paralegals and junior lawyers not only in his team or the wider National Dispute Resolution Group but firm wide which has further enriched their success.

The Directors congratulate Rob on his worthy elevation and thank him for the enormous contribution he has and will continue to make to Madison Marcus. Rob has now joined the Madison Marcus Future Leaders Initiative which our Managing Director, Bechara Shamieh officially launched at the celebration and are delighted that he is part of a team of bright, diligent and exemplary corporate citizens.

The Madison Marcus Future Leaders Initiative aims to support and champion the career progression of members of the Initiative, as well as further enriching the expertise and innovative thinking that MM prides itself on offering our clients. Members of the Initiative include those who have been long standing and valued members of the MM team who have climbed the corporate ladder through internal pathways to promotion, along with recent additions to the ranks of our Professional and Management staff. So far in 2019 this includes our Special Counsels in Family and Criminal Law, Alicia Huppatz and Samir Banga and Associates Sophie Hale (Planning & Environment), Lisa Boler (Commercial Litigation & Corporate Law) and Carmelo Salerno (Banking & Finance) who significantly boost the depth of experience and expertise of our existing Future Leaders members.

Members of the Future Leaders Initiative all fulfill three key criteria that the Directors of MM believe are crucial to the success of the firm and to the quality of work our clients expect of us. These being:

  • Integrity
  • Passion
  • Teamwork

The MM Future Leaders Initiative will hold member forums once a quarter with Special Guest Speaker events along with collaborative think tanks and both mentor and mentee programs across different practice areas to develop ongoing strategies, policies and opportunities to help members grow individually and as a wider team.
