Georgina is a Special Counsel in the Commercial Litigation Division at Madison Marcus Law Firm.
She has extensive experience acting for clients in relation to a range of commercial litigation and insolvency matters including contractual and property-related disputes and claims relating to loans, guarantees, directors’ duties, external administrations and bankruptcies. Georgina has also acted for liquidators and bankruptcy trustees in applications to the Court for leave or approval to proceed with particular courses of action under the Corporations and Bankruptcy Acts.
Georgina also has experience in applications to obtain recognition by the Australian Federal Court of foreign liquidations and bankruptcies under the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency.
Georgina has written articles on a range of commercial litigation and insolvency topics and keeps up to date with developments in the law and their potential impact on clients.
Georgina has acted for a broad range of clients in proceedings before the Federal, Supreme, District and Local Courts. She is also experienced in the use of alternative dispute resolution methods such as negotiation, mediation and settlement conferences.
