Bechara is the Group Managing Director of Madison Marcus Law Firm and has over 20 years’ experience as a lawyer specialising in property, commercial and corporate law.
Bechara has a broad range of experience in property, corporate, commercial, building, insolvency and insurance litigation and represents a number of large domestic and international building, financial and insurance companies.
Bechara’s expertise is regularly relied on by major corporations including Piety THP Capital, Aranda Properties, Lend Lease, Mars Property Group, BIA, MTA, IAME, Metro Petroleum Group, EDG Capital, Dyldam Developments, JQ Point, Dahua Group, HIGA, Skyworks Group, Consolidated Sirius, Giorgio Armani and Oroton Group. He acts for large and reputable developers and builders in relation to all aspects of land dealings including acquisitions, disposals, off-the-plan selling and strata, local government and planning, leasing and building & construction.
In 2015, Bechara was the legal advisor on some of New South Wales’ most recent major developments in the suburbs of Lane Cove, Blackwattle Bay, Hurstville, Dee Why, Manly Vale, Bondi, Wentworth Point, Drummoyne, Kellyville, Gordon, Rosebery, Waterloo, Lidcombe and Lewisham. The projects included Mixed Use and high-rise developments with values of up to $1 billion.
Bechara acts as a corporate advisor to many private, public and foreign companies as well as associations and companies limited by guarantee. He provides advice on international joint ventures, off take agreements, managed funds and capital raisings, master franchises and private acquisitions in areas of residential, commercial and retail property; corporate governance; agriculture; mining and resources; commodities; funds management; food & beverage; retail & hospitality; media & entertainment and debt and equity funding as well as construction and infrastructure.
Bechara has provided valuable business consulting to small and medium sized businesses with respect to structure and planning coupled with strategic business management advice to assist businesses in future alignment and profitable growth. He acts as a corporate advisor to several businesses assisting with due diligence, capital raisings, IPO’s, M&A’s, commercial contract disputes and issues relating to reconstruction and insolvency matters.
A regarded and trusted source of knowledge within his field of expertise, Bechara was previously on the legal academic board of representatives for the International Institute of Business Management. He provides consulting to a number of private companies as a non-executive director. Bechara currently provides consultation to a number of Chartered Accountants, Financial Advisors, Liquidators and Trustees on areas of Trusts, SMSF, Insolvency and Estate Planning. Bechara was previously employed by large and reputable firms such as PricewaterHouseCoopers Legal (formerly Dunhil Madden Butler) and Marsdens.
