Benoir was admitted a lawyer in February 2014. Benoir predominantly practised in commercial dispute resolution with a particular focus on property and construction litigation. During this time, Benoir also worked on corporate and commercial transactions, intellectual property protections and general commercial drafting.
Benoir acted for and advised clients on disputes in multiple jurisdictions including NCAT, the Local Court, the District Court, the Supreme Court, the Federal Court and the Court of Appeal on matters relating to a wide range of equitable and common law issues. The value of these disputes ranged from $50,000 to $150 million.
Benoir was promoted to Associate in 2016 where his focus practice area transitioned to purely corporate and commercial matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance advice, asset protection and extensive commercial drafting.
After practising as an Associate for 2 years, Benoir was promoted to Partner in 2018 and the leader of the Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Division at Madison Marcus. In this position, Benoir acts for a large number of high net-worth individuals, small and medium size enterprises and large corporations on a variety of legal transactional and advisory matters.
Immediately prior to him promotion, Benoir advised on the completion of a restructure of material sale transaction to an ASX listed corporation with a net value exceeding $100 million. Other notable matters Benoir has acted on include the sale of interests in NSW landholding entities with sale values ranging between $50 million and $200 million. Benoir has also acted on the acquisition and disposal of assets and shares in numerous technology, child care, real estate and other internationally diverse businesses.
